Mason Murer is pleased to announce our May 2013 show, opening Friday, May 17.

Our May show will open with painters Henry Bermudez, Ashley Surber, Barbara Fisher, and Knox Wilkinson. Our line up includes works from mixed media artists Larry Walker and Ab the Flagman. Molly Sawyers fantastic sculptural installations, Botanical, will also be on display.

The show will open with an artist’s reception on Friday, May 17, from 7 to 10 pm and will run through July 27, 2013

It’s that time of year again. Time to retire your puffy down jacket to the closet and start coming outside again. It’s also time for a new show here at Mason Murer.

We’re particularly excited about this show. We’ve got a bunch of our old favorites, as well as a few really amazing new artists.

Our Spring show will open with Robert Marx drawings, paintings by Jeanie Tomanek, Karen Hollingsworth, Craig Hawkins, and Will Rafuse. We will be welcoming paintings from new artists: animal portraiture by Ray Hare and urbanscapes by Valerio D’Ospina. Additionally, we will be showing photo based works from Robin Davis and sculptures from Steve Steinman and Todd Fuller. Finally, two groups from academia round out our exhibition: the Georgia High School Art Symposium and Damn Fine: a SCAD MFA Group Show. 

We will also be continuing the Cigar Box Art Project to benefit future art therapy programs at Mason Murer.

The show will open with an artist’s reception on Friday, April 5, from 7 to 10 pm, and will run through May 11, 2013.

Our February show will open with The Gee’s Bend Experience: Quilts from Tinnie, Minnie, and Claudia Pettway. Fiber artist Marquetta Johnson will also be showing her colorful, hand-dyed quilts.

Several painters will be included in our February exhibition. Drawing on the Unexpected: Works from Asheville Artists, curated by Julyan Davis will be accompanied by new works from Davis. We are also introducing painters Ernesto Torres and Stephen Bach. In addition we will have new works from Frank Hyder, Ashley Surber, Terry Turrell, a selection of Herbert Creecy paintings, and Mark Karelson’s new body of work, Originem.

Coated Lens: Life at 1/125th, a MFA thesis show from photographer Andrew Michael Phillips will round out the exhibition.

The show will open with an artist’s reception on Friday, February 15 from 7 to 10 pm and will run through March 30, 2013.

You’re probably tired of partying for the moment(New Years hangovers can last a few days), but when the mood stikes you again, why not party with these Party Animals?

Anyway, here’s a fun little time lapse of us taking the giant canvas off of the stretcher and getting it ready to go.

Mason Murer is pleased to announce our new show opening on November 9th to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

We are asking that all patrons help support the Atlanta Community Food Bank by contributing a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need or making a donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank as the suggested cost of admission.

Artists in our November line up include painters Teresa Fischer, Robert Marx, Luke Allsbrook, Virginia Parker, William Entrekin, Jeanie Tomanek, Keiko Gonzales, newcomer Spencer Herr, and our very own Ashley Surber. We will also be having a SCAD MFA thesis show by painter and sculptor Paul Light Jr. titled Abstract Quintessence. Also showing are mixed media artists Pam Moxley and Terri Dilling, photographer Andrew Michael Phillips, and drawing masters Paul Cadden and Lance McBride.

November is also National Epilepsy Awareness Month. In conjunction with the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia, we will be displaying the artwork of people living with epilepsy during the opening.

The show will open with an artist’s reception on Friday, November 9th from 7 to 10 pm and will run through the end of 2012.

The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series is coming to Atlanta with a show at Mason Murer. Artist’s can submit their work HERE, for a chance to show at Mason Murer, Miami Basel, and Rush Arts Gallery in New York City. Submissions are open through August 24, 2012. Make sure you don’t miss this amazing opportunity!

The show will also feature Kevin Cole, Stephen Hayes, Winston Wingo, Eleanor Neal, Wadsworth Jarrell, and Benny Andrews.

We will reopen on Thursday at 11 am for normal business hours.
